2011 ENSA Scholarship Winners

The Eastern Nebraska Soccer Association (ENSA) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2011 Linus W. Fangman ENSA Scholarship: Kristin Burgett from Platteview High School and Lance Warburton from Skutt Catholic High School.

In the fall of 2003, ENSA felt the need to recognize the many outstanding young persons who are involved in soccer within our clubs and communities. The league decided to fund annual one-time $500.00 scholarships to deserving graduating high school seniors. The award is based on academic achievement, school involvement, and service to ENSA related activities. Those activities can include playing, coaching, or refereeing in the league.

Kristin Burgett is the daughter of Lanyard and Cathy Burgett  of Springfield.  A Senior at Platteview High School, Kristin is an Honor Roll and Merit Roll student, active in drama and athletics, and Future Business Leaders of America. She has played soccer in ENSA and other leagues from age 9 to current. She has done volunteer work with ENSA, working at Breakout meetings and assembled coaches packets.  Kristin plans to attend either Metropolitan Community College or Iowa Western Community College to become an artist and a photographer.

Lance Warburton is the son of Marc and Pam Warburton from Elkhorn.  He will graduate from VJ & Angela Skutt Catholic High School in Omaha this Spring.  At Skutt, Lance is a National Merit Commended Scholar, was a letter award recipient for orchestra, academics and science Olympiad, and played on the soccer team.  He is an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow.  Lance will be attending Marquette University in the Fall and will be studying computer engineering.  For ENSA, Lance is a former player and has worked as a referee the last two years.

Best wishes to you, Kristin and Lance, and congratulations from ENSA.
